Meet the Bride...

"Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own." - Robert A. Heinlein

What he says...

Surbhi was born in New Delhi, India and moved to Australia with her parents when she was four years old.  In fact, Surbhi is still an Australian – American dual citizen.  Her family settled in Naperville, Illinois when she was nine.

After graduating from Naperville North High School, Surbhi attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Economics with minors in Chemistry and South Asian Studies.  After undergrad, Surbhi spent a year volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in India, teaching for Kaplan, obatining her paralegal certification and working for a judge.  In the fall of 2010, Surbhi moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado Law School. She is now a practicing attorney at Kissinger and Fellman, P.C.  Lets just say I don’t win many arguments with her, or as she likes to call them “discussions”.

It is hard to talk about Surbhi’s passions because she finds happiness in so many different activities.  She taught dance, was on swim teams, is a founding member of her sorority, enjoys painting, is a great baker, a creative chef, and spends countless hours on volunteer activities.  Whether it’s arts and crafts at home or studying for an exam, Surbhi immerses herself completely in the task at hand until she succeeds.  Among her many achievements are two awesome moot court victories, one of which was a national competition in Washington, D.C.

If you know Surbhi, you know that she loves to play board games and even more than that, she loves to win.  According to her, I am the only person who has even come close to beating her at Scrabble.  I wear this title proudly!

Surbhi has such a bubbly personality and positive outlook on life.  She is still a kid at heart who enjoys watching Full House reruns or Disney movies, and if it’s snowing outside, she will want to drop everything to go play.  But she is also a thrill seeker, she would jump out of plane tomorrow if you asked her to… in fact she has! From the moment I met her I knew she would be one of my best friends.  She is someone I admire and plan to cherish forever.

what the girls say...

Surbhi has always been my go to person. No matter what is going on in her life, I know she will take the time to listen to me. Growing up we were always a team, doing things together. Surbhi always let me tag along because she didn’t want to leave me behind. She was always looking out for me and making sure I didn’t get hurt or no one was bothering me. It is so great having a constant friend who seems to always be on the same page. From Taco Bell runs to movie days, whenever one of us was craving something it seemed the other was as well. Now that we have grown up and live far apart, our relationship has grown as well. While we can’t just hop in the car and drive somewhere together, we can vent to each other over the phone whenever needed. When we’re both home at the same time we still sleep in the same bed so that we can stay up late gossiping and catching up. Surbhi always has been and always will be one of the most caring people I know. She always has looked out for me before herself and will do whatever she can to help me. She is thoughtful and sweet, always doing little things like sending me Valentine’s Day presents or editing papers for me at the last minute. I’m so excited for her to start this new chapter of her life!

- Kanika (sister, maid of honor)

Surbhi has been like a big sister to me that I can always look up to, talk to for advice, and of course laugh with.  Sharing the same name is one of the few things we have in common, and I'm so lucky to have her in my life.  We've had some of the greatest memories together that include family trips, doing dances, and so many more, and I can't wait to add to that list throughout all her wedding festivities!

- Surbhi (Nishu) (bridesmaid)

Regardless of if she's known you for 5 minutes or 5 years, Surbhi is kind and generous to everyone she meets, and is one of the sweetest people I know.  She is always looking out for me and does whatever she can to make sure her friends are happy.  She's always been very protective of me and is the older sister I never had.  Some of my best memories are with her and Sagar, and though we don't see each other that often anymore, whenever we meet it's like no time has passed.  I know we'll be friends for years to come and I'm looking forward to making all those memories with her and Sagar.

- Ayesha (bridesmaid)

I have known Surbhi since we were in our mummys' tummies. Literally! We have an inside joke that our parents (who are best friends) planned us together since we were born just three months apart. We have never lived together in the same city or even country but her trips to India and our one trip to the U.S. are enough to keep our friendship alive after all these years. We meet after a gap of years at a stretch but we just pick up from where we left, instantly. I can safely call her one of my closest friends. She's like a sister to me and I can share my deepest darkest secrets with her. She is such a wonderful and warm person. I am so excited about the wedding and I hope I can make it!

- Aditi (friend)

Surbhi is one of the sweetest people I know. Her lovable attitude and passion towards helping others makes her one of a kind. She truly has a heart of gold, and I am so fortunate to have known her for all these years after meeting in college. We started out as college roommates, became sorority sisters, and now she is one of my best friends.  She is just like a sister to me!

- Amber (bridesmaid)

An amazing person and friend. Literally a princess in every way! So happy she met her prince! I met Surbhi when I moved to Denver and we have been good friends ever since.  She is so bubbly and has such a great personality, its no wonder that Sagar swooped her up so quickly.  I know that they are both going to be very happy together, they complement each other in every way and I can't wait for the wedding.

- Sweta (bridesmaid)

and what the boys say about her.

"One can say, I truly knew Sagar B.S... Sagar before Surbhi that is. The moment she entered Sagar's life, she left a unique mark on his life. Surbhi's down to earth personality and her one of a kind laugh genuinely changed Sagar's life for the better!

Surbhi is nice, Sagar is lucky to have her.  Jai ho!"

-  Akash (groomsman)

Surbhi’s most admirable quality is the contagious smile that I have never seen her without. She is a constant source of joy and laughter, and the best influence Sagar could ask for. Her driven personality has allowed her to attain much success in her professional life, but her humble nature will never allow her to reveal just how successful she is. She truly cares for everyone in her life, standing by them through thick and thin, pushing them to strive for their goals, and lending a helping hand along every step of the way. This makes Sagar an incredibly fortunate man to be marrying his most devoted, faithful, and altruistic friend.
